Will the Green New Deal Target Factory Farming?
The Senate just passed the 1 trillion dollar “Infrastructure Bill”. Senate and House Democrats want their Green New Deal policies included. It demands a “a greenhouse gas free food system”, working collaboratively with farmers and ranchers in the United States to remove pollution and greenhouse gas emissions from the agricultural sector as much as is technologically feasible.
We may have an Initiative on our ballot in November here in Oregon that does just that. IP-13 as explained in an earlier article: https://southernoregonfirst.com/2021/07/04/initiative-will-hit-cattle-industry-hard/. Moving towards a more sustainable food system means a shift away from a meat and dairy diet towards plant-based food, according to the EAT-Lancet Commission published last month. Oregon and other Governors that have recently been chosen by the Biden Administration are the “Pilot” states to roll this out. A so called Pilot State is when the Government chooses a state to initiate their policy and should the state succeed in it’s roll out of any particular policies, it filters out until it eventually becomes law. Kate Brown was specifically chosen along with other Governors to do just this. https://www.koin.com/news/oregon/kate-brown-among-10-governors-appointed-to-biden-council/. Oregonians need to understand the meaning of “fundamentally transform America” and “The New Normal”, and one only has to look at these New Green Deal policies to know what that means and how you, your family, job and way of life is about to change. Stand up and vote NO on all of these deceptive bills.
