6/28 9:25PM UPDATE: Size = 1,446 Acres Containment = 20%. Seems to be doubling or maybe even tripling ever 12 hours. They are maintaining a 20% containment barrier. Would imaging toward civilization. Prayers for our communities and firefighters in the area.

6/27 11AM UPDATE: Lava Fire burning north of Weed has now burned 220 acres and is 25% percent contained. Currently, no changes have been made on the evacuation warning for residents on Angel Valley Rd., Carrick Addition, and Solus Drive, according to the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s office. Information combined for multiple sources. Type 2 incident management team has been requested.

6/26 EVAC UPDATE: ***LAVA FIRE – EVACUATION WARNING***
AN EVACUATION WARNING HAS BEEN ISSUED DUE TO WILDFIRE FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS ALONG STATE ROUTE 97, NORTH OF WEED, CA: ANGEL VALLEY ROAD, CARRICK ADDITION, AND SOLUS DRIVEBE PREPARED TO EVACUATE IF REQUESTED
Fire is located east of HWY 97, northeast of Carrick in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. Recent lightning across northern California caused four confirmed fires on the U.S. Forest Service – Shasta-Trinity National Forest. Crews got on it fast, and only one fire is still showing activity today. The #LaveFire is burning in rough, rocky terrain 3.5 miles northeast of Weed, California, and 4.5 miles southeast of Lake Shastina. The fire is burning in brush and second growth timber and is visible from Hwy’s 97 and I-5. Resources including ground crews and aircraft are on scene.
